Policies and Procedures

Every organisation offering activities to children and young people should have a child protection policy and procedures available to those who are involved in delivering the sport to children.  Many sports organisations now have child protection policy templates, which you can use to help in developing one for your club. If you are part of an umbrella group we recommend you ask if there is a child protection policy that you can adopt.  Organisations that may be able to help you are:

  • Scottish Governing Bodies
  • Local Authority Sport and Leisure Departments
  • Local Sports Councils
  • Local Volunteer Centres
  • Child Protection Committees
